Ever think email is running your life?  Well, some studies suggest that perhaps it takes more time out of your schedule than you think.

http://www.smh.com.au/news/biztech/youve-got-interruptions/2008/09/08/1220857455459.html?page=fullpage#contentSwap2

I'll have to admit that I may have a problem here.  I check email on two different accounts through the day.  Maybe it would be smart to not check always, and take a break.

In response to this, I have tried to change my email habits so that I can be more efficient.  Of course I created a program to help with this.  "Open After" is a goofy little program that opens an application after a specified time.  So I can close my email client (baby step 1) and do work (baby step 2) until it opens.  Then address the email and close it for another period of time.  I have found that this is not successful if I leave my cute little email notifier things turned on.  So exit gmail notifier, and turn off the sound notifiers on Outlook.   Feel free to try it.  Sorry, windows only, only know how to code web pages for the mac.

And another thing... what about instant messenger clients?  I suppose I'll have to adjust that behavior as well.

openafterWsource.zip

The executable and source is here in a zipped folder.  No installer needed.  This is beta, but it has been tested on XP and Vista.  .NET Framework 2.0 required.

This is a cross post from the LanManager Community (lanman.communities.esu10.org)
but I've included some more information and the source project in VS2008.

Please let me know if you have any questions or thoughts.
Nate
